Neuheisel is leaving the network to join CBSSports. That's too bad for P12. I quite enjoy listening/watching him and the football shows/analysis.

I propose anything dealing with the Pac-12 Network be moved into the "Local Media" thread. Until the P-12 Network is on DirecTV, I sure the hell can't call them "National Media."

I think this is a good thing for Western football. Rick knows that world and can bring that perspective to all the SEC, Big 12 and Big 10 talk that goes on already in the national media. (Pat, CBS Sports is the national media angle here.)

You shot down my snark with an irrefutable fact. Damn you!

My thoughts exactly. Having P-12 nets wholly under league control has not given its schools the windfall originally thought. Without precedent, I have no idea if this is something that will work or not.

Would revenue still be shared equally under such an arrangement? I assume so; otherwise USC comes out like a bandit, maybe Oregon too.

Based on my understanding of what companies like Learfield, IMG, etc. do for individual schools, USC would stand to lose the most in such an agreement, as would UCLA and Washington. Oregon is much closer to SLC than LA in terms of local revenue streams.

I Am Not A Telecom Expert, but I read it the same way: it would mean USC and UCLA would give up their ability to sell rights to their individual product and hand it over to the league to sell all the schools as a package deal.
