This is ridiculous.

It's not really the fault of the athletic department, but the Utah Football Foundation (the local chapter of the national College Football Foundation) is primarily responsible for getting players on the ballot. Seven BYU players have been inducted, one USU player (Merlin Olsen) and coach (Dick Romney) and one Utah coach (Ike Armstrong).

Romney and Armstrong, the two with the strongest Utah ties (Romney is a U. alum) are not on display on the UFF's web page under state inductees into the CFF HOF.

Despite the UFF's efforts to involve Utah greats at annual events, it's very difficult for me to view that as an innocent oversight. Especially given how long it took the UFF to get Roy Jefferson on the ballot (just last year -- he wasn't inducted, which didn't surprise me, but he should've been on the ballot long ago). Instead, we get Phil Olsen on this year's ballot -- which is fine -- but his career was no better than Luther's. And he played 45 years ago. Are we really going to have to wait until 2035 to see Luther on the ballot?
