One of the people I work with is - for whatever reason - a huge fan of Donald Trump for President. As we were waiting for a conference call today he was espousing how a Trump administration would dictate terms to other countries, not negotiate as well as his position that The Donald will run the country as a successful businessman, not a politician. This got me curious and during the boredom that was this call, here are some interesting businesses Trump has launched and closed.
GoTrump.com, a website that promised users the opportunity to "travel Trump style" opened in 2006, closed in 2007.
Trump: The Magazine, the third attempt to publish a magazine aimed at the opulent, launched in 2007 and ceased publication in 2009.
Trump Mortgage's GM lied about his credentials as a top Wall Street executive causing its licensing to be revoked after 13 months in business.
in 1992, Trump defaulted on $365 million in loans used to purchase and operate Trump Airlines.
Trump touted his 52-story tower in Tampa as a game changer, then claimed he only licensed the use of his name when the project failed.
Trump & Milton Bradley projected Trump: The Game would sell 2 million units in its first year. It sold 600,000 in two releases in 1989 & 2014.
Trump University, a "philanthropic venture" by The Donald is being sued by former students and several Attorneys General for fraud.
Trump Entertainment & Casinos built the Taj Mahal for $210 million only to be sold in 2010 in bankruptcy for $20,000,000.
Trump Entertainment & Casinos filed for bankruptcy 3 times and received infusions of cash from its creditors 6 times between 1989 and 2009.
Maybe it's just me but that pretty much makes the federal government as it's currently run sound pretty darn efficient in comparison...
