I just heard Harpring on the radio talking about that play. He said they ran that play in Italy, and that it work really well at the college level because you have the bring the ball up, so the inbounder kind of gets lost in the shuffle. Plus everyone is worried about getting beat deep or getting burned with a back cut, so guys are playing D in the lane.
