I am very excited about this. She was a real hero, and a woman of great courage. A Republican too!

And Andy Jackson wasn't really a Democrat! Which is the the Democrats hold their Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner every year! :rimshot:

I read a great article yesterday about how the Democrats and Republicans have switched positions from the 19th to the 20th century (post civil rights act, etc.) but I cant find it now.

P.s. In Utah, it is no longer the Jefferson-Jackson dinner. It is now more PC.

I love this. Harriet Tubman is awesome. One of my favorite books growing up was a biography of her. I have no idea who wrote it but I have always seen her as awesome.

It is a fun discussion to have because both sides have interesting and strong arguments to make. In my entirely objective and scholarly opinion - 😉 - the Republicans have the better side if the argument.

Here's an example of the GOP side, which I concede is a bit too simplistic (but fun).

These historical facts are why modern Democrats are so interested in trying to switch places, historically, with Republicans.

Ha, me too actually. I remember doing a report on her in grade school based off this book I loved.

There has always been a lot of truth in Peanuts or Faux Peanuts.

P.s. is the kid talking to Charlie Brown supposed to be black or Pigpen?

That's Franklin. He joined the strip in 1968.

Yep. There's a good story behind him:

That is a good story. Surprised I ddn't know the character, but I probably stopped following peanuts around the time of the Great Pumpkin halloween special in 1967.

So many people are upset about this that it must be a good thing.

I have no problem with changing who is on the bills.

I do think our constant changing of money recently is a waste of resources.

I have a feeling it is more to add anti-counterfeiting techniques rather than just a simple facelift.

They did that a couple years ago.

Should have done this stuff then.
