Is anyone watching this game? Anything worth noting?

Bonam is back to his usual self

Van Dyke can play.

JoJo Zamora, Devon Daniels and Gabe Bealer are showing some more skills.

Jayce Johnson needs to live in the weight room.

I have a scout thing with my son tonight, but I am recording it and listened to the first half on the radio.

The Utes sound much more disciplined than they did the other night.

Still giving up offensive boards though.

I'm bored. I changed the thread title to amuse myself.

Agree with all of the above.

Plus--Rawson is a player--high basketball IQ.

Bealer came in early & got a lot of minutes. He is a quick jumper--had a nice one handed (left) dunk off of 1 step after a feed
He showed more energy---will be a big help at 3 if he keeps it up.

JoJo blocked 2 shots--surprising jumper for someone his size. He hit several 3's

Devon Daniels is a keeper---will be all conference before he is done.

And there is hope for Jakub Jokl. Had 2 or 3 blocks & some rebounds. He is not in shape & needs to hit the weights, but he was a late arrival. Not sure how old he is, but he is coordinated for his size. Not this year or probably not next, but is he sticks it out---he will contribute.

Concordia was better than the Naz. they played a zone--which was good practice.

I'm not sure there is much of a take away from this game or the prior game. I understand playing 1 of these, but 2 seems like a waste.

I like the new additions to the team, particularly Rawson, Daniels and Zamora. All three add a physical and athletic dimension to the team. Rawson is very athletic for a 6'10" kid. He is a quick jumper and can get off the floor. He has a nice looking outside shot and a touch under the rim. He appears to have a high basketball IQ. Zamora is a very good jumper and has above average quickness. He plays bigger than his size and appears to be a decent outside shooter. Daniels looks tough and willing to do the dirty work. He really needs to develop that part of his game.

Jayce Johnson and Jacob Jokl are both projects. Both are young and need to gain strength and grow into their bodies. The good news is that both are giving good effort and really playing hard.

Bealer and VanDyke are both improved from when we saw them last. The question for me on both of them is how they perform against better opposition.

Kuzma and Bonum both look interested in leading the team. Bonum has done that before. Kuzma needs to show that he can consistently perform against better opposition.

Collette and Barefield will both be critical to the longterm success of this team. When they join the team I see a front court rotation of Kuzma and Rawson at the 4, Collette and Rawson at the 5 with Johnson getting 3 or 4 minutes per half, and a pg/wing rotation of Bonum, Barefield, Daniels and Zamora with Bealer and VanDyke fighting it out for the remaining minutes.

The first game this year was a last resort. They were unable to find a team that could play last Saturday. It wasn't a desire to play two easy teams.

I have enjoyed the two games so far. It's fun to see all the new faces even if the competition isn't great.

Right now, I think Johnson will not be able to contribute offensively but will be able to rebound and defend alright. I'm not sure about Van Dyke and Zamora. I like that Rawson gives us a big body who can shoot free throws. That may be valuable at the end of close games.
