Pulled these numbers from USA Today. Stanford and USC are not included as they are private. The U became a member of the PAC 12 for revenue purposes on July 1, 2011.

I might be wrong, but I believe the payout from the PAC is as follows: 2011-2012: 0% (a share of increased payout due to championship games); 2012 -2013: 50% (current year although I assume that much was unpaid as of the end of 2012 and not reflected in the monies above; 2013-2014: 75%; 2014-2015.

The 33 million generated by UA in contributions was significantly more than in prior years where they were around 11-12 mil.

Utah students pay much more in student fees than the students at other schools although it is unreported on whether students at other schools are required to purchase tickets.

I am guessing the numbers for Right Lic numbers reflected in these figures were what was paid under the previous PAC 12 deal as the new deal did not go into effect until 2012-13. So Utah's numbers would reflect 0% as I am guessing most of 2012-13 was not included in these figures.

Things that stand out to me are that Oregon generates the most ticket revenue with one of the smaller stadiums and generates more than double the U with about 8,000 more seats.

well that didn't turn out too well.

well that didn't turn out too well.

See if surrounding it with the tables helps. I am on mobile or I would try. If it doesn't work, i will try when I get to a desktop.

That would seem to suggest that you don't want to get into a situation where your inventory far outweighs your demand. I am going to take a wild guess that ASU averages 5-10k more in attendance then WSU.

Yes, we should think twice about stadium expansion. Attendance is starting to dip across the country.

probably the best example of that is at the University of Tennessee. I was reading an article the other day about how Tenn's athletic department was heavily in debt (about $200 million). They expanded Neyland Stadium to 105,000 back when Tennessee was flirting with becoming a top 10 program. Last season they averaged 89,000 for football and there were reportedly a few games against lesser opponents where only 60,000 were in the stands.

While I do think Utah could fill a 55,000 seat stadium long term, I can see why Chris Hill wants to hold off at the present time.

There is NO need to expand the stadium right now. The Utes are in a PERFECT place. Before Utah expands, they need to raise prices. We sell out every week yet are between 6-8 in ticket revenue. They aren't charging enough.

This may not be a popular opinion you have, but it is likely accurate. If your renewal rates are new 98% then you didn't raise prices enough.

I would really like to see the stadium expanded for 2 reason: 1. to replace our terrible locker rooms. That south endzone needs to be replaced or condemned. 2. For the noise level. Filling in the endzone will make it much louder.

I think Utah can fill a 55,000 seat stadium regularly as there are many fans who would like to come to games that can't get tickets, but if they don't I still think Utah should maximize profits by raising prices until they start to see that hurt sales. So far we have not approached hurting sales
