The Big-12 Commissioner has set off a medium sized wildfire by suggesting the Power 5 conferences might split off from the NCAA and form their own organization. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2013/07/23/on-football-can-5-power-conferences-get-freedom-want-without-cutting-off-rest/

The two bits of really sweet news here in July are that we got 98% of season ticket renewals for the third year - which is remarkably positive news, considering our stubbed toe of a season last year - and secondly, the angst of whether we might make into a potential higher tier of college football, or not, is non-existent.

Proceed with enjoying your summer, the 3rd anniversary of PAC-mas.

My understanding is that the talk is not about secession but about creating a new division within the NCAA. The Big5 really were unhappy that the small schools were able to veto the extra $2,000 to athletes. They want to be able to make their own decisions about these kinds of things.
